Overview

The B.C. NTS DramaFest showcases outstanding work from High School Drama Programs, Zone Drama Festivals and the Youthwright Playwriting Competition. It is a celebration of creativity, education, and community.

Registration

Registration for all Delegates (Students, Teachers, & Chaperones) April 2026.

Portal opens at 8:00am on Tuesday April 7th, 2026 via our registration site.

Festival Adjudicator

Alana Hawley Purvis is an accomplished theatre professional with extensive experience in performance and education. Her expertise and passion for the dramatic arts make her a valuable addition to this year's festival as our adjudicator.

Performing schools will receive a private adjudication session with professional theatre artists to foster growth.

When & Where is the Festival?
The B.C. NTS DramaFest is happening in person from April 30 - May 3, 2026 at Douglas College in New Westminster, B.C.
What happens during the festival?
All delegates spend three days & nights in New Westminster participating in workshops, seeing performances, engaging in social activities, sharing artistic experiences, and having a fabulous time!
How do I participate?
There are three ways: Be selected as the Outstanding or Alternate Production in your Zone, be selected as an Outstanding Playwright in the Youthwright competition, or teachers can bring students as non-performing delegates.
What does it cost to participate in the festival?
The Festival Fee is $150.00 per delegate (teachers, chaperones, students) and includes six workshops, Zone Showcase and Youthwright performances, adjudications, two breakfasts, two lunches, swag bag, Festival t-shirt, side quests, and social events including a Theme Dance to wrap up the festivities. All delegates stay at the Inn at the Quay (host hotel) in New Westminster for the full three days/nights of the Fest. Accommodation, Travel, and other incidental costs are the responsibility of the delegates.
How do I register?
